Three killed in police firing in MP town; curfew clamped
Burhanpur (MP) (PTI): Three persons were on Friday killed in police firing in this communally sensitive town, where an indefinite curfew was clamped and shoot-at-sight order issued following arson group clashes. Three persons were killed in police firing, Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police S K Raut told PTI.
At least 15 persons, including four policemen, were injured in stone pelting, police said. Police opened fire near a place of worship to control a mob which had set afire 7-8 shops, police sources said. The trouble began last night during a religious procession at Mandavmal Chouraha in Budhwara locality when the sound system mounted on a vehicle fell, leading to chaos in the area, police sources said.
